Experis is seeking a Senior Operations Customer Support Engineer for a Defense/Space client. The ideal candidate will be onsite at customer satellite control facilities at both domestic and international locations (primarily international) 100% of the time, they will not be working out of the Palo Alto facility - can be based anywhere in the US or Canada. The Senior Operations Customer Support Engineer will support our clients satellite customers for initial on-orbit operations at customer satellite control facilities at domestic and international locations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement software solutions for Web Content Management domain.
• Utilize the latest industry standard design & implementation tools and frameworks (Java, J2EE, Web 2.0 etc.) to develop world-class software.
• Document and publish requirement, design and functional specifications for use by internal teams.
• Participate in the evaluation and resolution of defect ticket reports for new as well as legacy components.
• Contribute to the team’s software development lifecycle improvement initiatives by utilizing standard practices as well proposing areas of improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
• Completed degree requirements within 6 months of employment commencing, or have completed degree requirements (graduated) no more than 12 months from the start date
• A minimum of one year experience (academic/industry) with Java, J2EE development.
• An understanding of the creation and use of Design Patterns.
• Entry level knowledge of various operating systems and computer networking.
• Strong knowledge of software development methodologies and related tools.
• Experience with web technologies development (DHTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX) is a plus.
• Previous internship or co-op experience would be an asset.
• Software development and engineering skills on large-scale, mission-critical infrastructure applications would be a plus.
