The Paddington mining and exploration tenement package covers an area of 678km² within the world-class Kalgoorlie gold province. It is 100% owned and operated by Norton Gold Fields Limited and is centred around the Paddington Mill which is located 35km north-west of Kalgoorlie, Western Australia.
Norton Gold Fields Limited Paddington Operations is seeking a Senior Underground Mining Engineer to join the Underground Mining department at their Paddington Operations, based in Kalgoorlie. This role will be responsible for assisting with managing the planned development and stoping operations at the mine. This focus includes consideration of both the long term future needs of the mine and the daily production requirements.
Reporting to the Alternate Underground Mine Manager, the successful candidate will assist in the management of systems that ensure a safe working environment with a view to maximising the value of the geological resource by undertaking rigorous economic evaluations and scheduling of mining blocks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce practical mine designs (including infrastructure and development required) to enable exploration of mining blocks over the LOM period.
- Produce and maintain rolling production schedules.
- Analyse and optimise ventilation systems.
- Review applications of different mining methods and the impact on the economic viability of mining blocks and recommend changes as required.
- Undertake rigorous economic evaluations of individual mining blocks.
- Design development drives, stoping blocks, blast ring layouts and work plans as required.
- Identify and set production priorities.
Experience / Qualifications Required:
- Minimum 5 years post graduate underground mining experience with at least 2 years in a planning role.
- First Class Mine Managers Certificate or the ability to obtain one.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications (Bachelor Degree in Mining Engineering).
- Current unencumbered C Class license to drive in Australia.
