The Carina mine site is Polaris Metals current development and is a major iron ore resource located in the Yilgarn region of WA. Polaris has the ultimate management of this green-fields site with initial production targeted at 4 million tonnes per annum with the potential to increase this capacity by bringing new deposits on line to increase the total resource base for the MRL Group.
As a key member of the Technical Services team the Mining Engineer will be responsible for mine planning, designs and scheduling to ensure short term planning meets supply chain requirements for material tonnes and grades. The position will be based on site at Carina and will be on a FIFO 9:5 roster.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Liaise with mining contractors to ensure daily, weekly and monthly production and quality conforms to plan.
  • Ensure mine short term mine plans (2 weekly) are up to date and timely communicated to stakeholders.
  • Responsible for compilation of daily, weekly and monthly reporting.
  • Responsible for EOM processes and sign offs with mining contractors.
  • Responsible for drill and blast designs
  • Liaise with mining consultants on Geotechnical, Hydrology and Hydro-Geology issues.
Essential Pre-requisites:
  • Tertiary Qualification in Mining Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years mine engineering experience
  • Sound leadership ability
  • Drivers licence
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • A focus on safety and environmental practices

The position is offered on short term contract, on an 8/6 FIFO roster from Perth or Kalgoorlie.

Accountable to the Mining Manager, this role is responsible for providing planning and technical risk mitigation to the open-pit mining operations. This role provides a rare opportunity to be a part of a Greenfields construction phase team at a large open-pit Gold Mine from the ground up.

The main tasks of the role include but are not limited to:
* Medium-term planning of mining activities including waste dumping optimisation
* Provide information of the open-pit plan to the TGM Alliance to enable the creation of budgets and work packages
* Provide specialist advice to identify and mitigate medium term (3-24 month) planning risks
* Development of process flow mapping, work packages for activities within the 3-24 month time frame
* Act or support the competent person for Mineral Reserves
* Initial development of bench blocks for 24 months
* Coordination and final development of the mining projects including road construction and waste landforms
* Monitor and coordinate installation/implementation of mining projects over 1 month projected timeframe

The ideal candidate will possess:
* At least 3 years engineering experience at two or more mining operations
* Bachelor Degree in Mining Engineering or AusIMM accepted equivalent
* Experience with large scale open-pit hard rock mining
* Experience in contract administration, progress claims and contract variations, preferably in a Mining Alliance environment
* Experience in managing mining and continuous improvement projects
* Competent in at least one General Mining Package (eg Vulcan, Datamine or MineSight), a Scheduling Package (eg Deswik, MineMax, Xpac) and MS Office software including Excel and Project
* Excellent computer skills such as basic scripting

    THE ROLE: TECHNICAL SUPPORT SPECIALIST (TSS)



    This position is in the Global Technical Support (GTS) Kuala Lumpur - Malaysia. It is responsible for supplying remote, back office or/and front line support for Teradata Database customers. Typically these customers have 24/7 contracts, and the successful applicant must be prepared to be on-call or to work in office rosters if/when needed to support the customers once the appropriate skill level has been attained.

    This role will be looking after the system’s UNIX/Windows/Linux operating environment, Teradata Database software and hardware, analyse system health status, perform software release management, prepare service reports, engage with support engineers in local countries, monitor and respond to incoming calls from customers and other service organizations.

    The technical support specialist will be servicing customers located globally as well as within the Asia Pacific, Japan and America. Some regional and global travel for training and service delivery would be required as the center will be operating closely with the TD Regional Support Center in Sydney and similar centers in other regions.

    As the center is in start up status the initial duties would be limited to back office proactive support but it will grow into full scope of service in the upcoming years.

    In house SW/HW and soft-skills training is available and highly encouraged to grow the successful applicants skills.

    Good working level of English/Mandarin are required. Other regional languages such as Japanese and Korean would be very much an advantage.




    DUTIES:



    The main day to day duties are as follows:
