Harris CapRock delivers satellite-based communications to businesses operating in the world's harshest and most remote locations. The Company's solutions enable customers within the oil and gas, commercial shipping, government services, engineering and construction, maritime, mining and disaster recovery markets to connect their remote sites with broadband Internet, Voice over IP, corporate networking, and real-time video and data. The Company covers three regions, Asia Pacific, Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA) and The Americas. The Asia Pacific (APAC) regional headquarters is in Singapore.

The Program Manager will define, oversee and coordinate all aspects of assigned clients for Harris CapRock customers and business. The Program Manager may have regional Project Managers, Engineers, or Service Coordinators assigned on a matrix basis in order to assist in the implementation of various customer installations and upgrades, service projects, including the processes for implementation of the customer contracts on schedule and within budget. In addition, the Program Manager will support assessment of projects, development of risk management strategies and procedures, budgets and focuses on the successful delivery of the client order or contract implementation.

Job Description

  • Serves as primary point of contact between assigned customers and the company
  • Monitors the assigned product/programs/projects from initiation through delivery, interfacing with customers on technical and non-technical matters.
  • Assesses on a daily basis all customer issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals.
  • Develop detailed work plans, work schedules, project estimates, resource plans, budgets, and status reports to effectively manage the assigned product/programs/projects
  • Make high level independent decisions and provide direction with little supervisory oversight or guidance.
  • Communicate effectively with functional peer groups, management and/or outside customers by gaining cooperation of others; conduct status reports/meetings and presentations of technical information concerning specific projects/schedules, etc.
  • Manage the integration of vendor tasks; track and review vendor deliverables.
  • Conduct customer/internal meetings to ensure timely deliverables for contracts.
  • Provide technical/analytical guidance to senior management, internal departments and clients.
  • Plan and direct work schedules as well as project/ contract budgets
  • Provide accurate and timely accounting of company assets; and projected time lines as dictated by mutually agreed to commitments for the assigned product/programs/projects on an on-going basis.
  • Manage and participate in customer proposal efforts as required
  • Provide cross cover for other Program Manager (s) in the Energy team
  • Monitor the profitability of the Program within the region.

Desired Skills & Experience

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in a related field or 4 years of project and/or satellite network management experience
  • Five years of related satellite field experience preferred. Oil and gas experience a plus
  • Must have proven experience in the management of network projects and/or communications systems that involved a variety of hardware and software suites
  • Strong research and analytical skills with the ability to collect access and report factual data and present logical conclusions.
  • Solid understanding and proven track record utilizing standard Project Management methodologies.
  • Advanced organization and project completion skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Skills
  • Able to effectively manage multiple projects and function with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrates strong understanding of concepts and issues across functional lines
  • Strong writing skills: must be able to prepare formal documents to be presented to both internal management and external users
  • Must be able to effectively serve as company advocate: negotiate for the company and business, both orally and written
  • Excellent problem solver, flexible and able to accommodate changing priorities and directions
  • Self-starter; able to seek out potential issues that aren’t readily apparent
  • Must be able to interact effectively within all levels of the company.
