About Our Client
Our client is a regional listed business with a number of different businesses. This part of the group is more focused around consumer retail and they are looking to expand their business in Indonesia significantly over the next coming years. Already a market leader they are aiming to expand on strong platforms and create a position of market dominance. Along with multiple subsidiaries and the current number of outlets in the hundreds, they are currently looking for a Financial Controller to lead the finance team within their organisation and contribute to putting in the right processes and procedures to facilitate growth.
Job Description
This is an excellent opportunity for a Finance professional to demonstrate their distinguished skills to implement controls, process and procedures for a business leader. Reporting to the Finance Director, the financial controller is expected to:
- Manage the external reporting with the preparation of accurate quarterly financial statements and annual financial statements including liaising with external auditor
- Oversee the accounting operation where AR/AP, buying income and fixed assets are concerned particularly
- Provide accurate management reporting with the preparation of accurate monthly management financial reporting
- Control the company finances by analysing and implementing effective control across the company
- Attend to the ad hoc queries from HQ regarding company finances
- Manage the company taxation compliance and treasury banking relationships and cash flow planning
- Preparing the monthly and yearly budgeting and forecasting
- Manage the working capital by monitoring and optimizing the stock and creditor days
- Develop a winning finance team through leadership, coaching and training
The Successful Applicant
We are ideally looking for Indonesian talent but your application will be considered if you are a highly qualified candidate residing in Jakarta and can speak and write Bahasa Indonesia. Additionally, you are expected to come with:
- Well-educated Indonesian with university degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent, minimum 10 years of hands-on financial controlling experience. Qualified accountant (CPA/CA/CMA etc) will be added advantage.
- Track record of not only understanding and analysing the effectiveness and efficiency of control across organisation but implement changes to improve said efficiency and control.
- Confidence and gravitas to challenge ideas and norms with senior management whilst maintaining integrity and professionalism.
- Strong communication and interpersonal/influencing skills.
- Working knowledge or Oracle or SAP or at least a well renowned ERP system is an added advantage.
- Excellent knowledge of Indonesian and International Accounting Standards as well as thorough knowledge of Indonesia corporate and indirect tax.
- Ability to work under pressure to meet internal and external reporting deadlines.
- Leadership experience in managing and developing a sizeable finance team including creating effective structure, career development and growth.
