Job Description

Due to continued success and growth both globally and within Russia, PPD are looking to expand their global Biostatistics and Programming team in Smolensk. We are currently looking for a Manager to ideally to be based in Smolensk but for the right candidates we many consider this role to be based remotely.

The team in Smolensk will cover all phases of clinical trials and work on standalone and full service studies. Clients will range from small biotech companies to large pharmaceutical firms. PPD covers many therapeutic areas including; CNS, oncology, cardiovascular, respiratory, general medicine and biosmiliars.

This is a great opportunity to join at the early set up stage of this new team. The purpose of this role is to manage a team of biostatisticians and programmers , organising workload across the team and report project status to management. Responsibilities will also include:
  • Overseeing the statistical aspects of clinical trials from design, through analysis and reporting
  • Providing Project Management on departmental projects
  • Assuming project leadership responsibilities as a member of a multidisciplinary project team, working directly with client representatives to assess and develop project goals.
  • Responsibility for hiring, training, mentoring and resourcing staff
  • Representing the Biostatistics and Programming department both internally within PPD and with clients and regulatory agencies.

Qualification

A Bachelor's degree in computer science, statistics, biostatistics, mathematics, biology or other health related field or equivalent experience that provides the skills and knowledge is necessary to perform the job.

Skills and Knowledge required:
  • Statistical supervisory experience within a clinical trials environment or similar field.
  • Able to demonstrate leadership ability
  • Experience in managing and developing staff and their career objectives
  • Strong knowledge of statistical principles
  • Demonstrate initiative, motivation and problem solving capacity
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
