Product Marketing Manager, Google+, Germany

Job Description

As a Marketing manager, you are a fully dedicated business leader, shaping the future of one of our many Google products. Whether you're on a consumer product (like Gmail, Search, Maps, Chrome, Android) or a business product (AdWords, AdSense, DoubleClick, Analytics), you take part in a complete marketing experience as you lead every facet of the product's journey. From determining positioning, naming, competitive analysis, feature prioritization and external communications, you help shape the voice of the product and help it grow a loyal consumer base. This means you work with a cross-functional team across sales, corporate communications, legal, webmasters, product development, engineering and more. The role enables you to shape the product development process, organize product launches from beginning to end and form future marketing strategy.

You are a fully dedicated leader shaping the future of one of our key products in Germany, Google+. You help to understand the market and our users and to build our Google+ strategy based on these insights. You also help to package strategic thinking in creative solution to further drive Google+ success in Germany. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, mainly the German PR team and Product Marketing teams in London and USA, you also lead our agency partners. The role allows you to work together with a team of talented and passionate Googlers to drive product development and a go-to-market strategy from beginning to end as well asoutlining future marketing opportunities.

Responsibilities
  • Set and lead product marketing strategy for Google+ in Germany, managing a diverse team focused on building and driving vertically-based programs and strategy.
  • Oversee execution of high impact programs to drive product awareness and usage and cultivate positive public perception.
  • Advocate, communicate and implement strategy to senior stakeholders, partnering closely with EMEA G+ lead to ensure strategic alignment with global and European G+ business plan.
  • Set and own all aspects of German G+ budget forecasting and management.
  • Interact with and manage multiple vendors, partners, company executives and a wide range of functional groups within Google.



  • Minimum Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree (In lieu of degree, relevant skills or equivalent experience).


  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in technology/online industry, product marketing or consulting.
  • Deep expertise in Consumer and Brand Marketing, ideally combined with work experience in/for social communities.
  • Understanding of Google’s overall strategic and competitive positioning.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills and ability to develop strategy, business plans, customer and market insights, identify key partners, analyse campaign effectiveness/ROI.
  • Large scale project management and leadership experience, including strategy and campaign planning and execution at local level while aligned with global business positioning.
  • Outstanding written and oral communication; fluency in German and English.
