Mining operations focus

We are currently seeking an experienced mining engineering professional to join an elite mining operation in Central Queensland. The purpose of this role is to develop and implement the short term mine plans and to ensure value is maximized by providing clear and concise communication with mining operations.

Key Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

• Development and implmentation of short term mine schedules and designs
• Liaising with mining operations personnel, long term planning and other technical services departments to ensure operational goals are achieved
• Providing mentoring and guidance to junior engineers
• Involvement with key projects as required

The successful candidate will be required to have:

• A degree in Mining or Civil Engineering;
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills and the ability to influence effectively;
• Excellent communication skills both written & verbal to share concepts, findings and learnings,
• Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills,
• Strong self motivation, excellent personal management skills; and
• A high level of computer literacy.
• Broad experience with large open cut coal operations
• High level of experience with a broad range of mine planning tools, in particular XPAC
