Position
Reporting through to the Shift Supervisor – Ore Car Repair Shop, we are currently seeking a self-motivated, safety-conscious individual to actively contribute to the achievement of production and maintenance targets in a safe and efficient manner, in line with all site and company HSEC standards.

In this residential role you will be based in Port Hedland, Western Australia. Our port and rail operations are located in the coastal town of Port Hedland, which is the largest regional centre in North West Australia and has been the centre of the thriving Iron Ore industry since the 1960's.
Local conditions apply: this role is only open to people who can supply their own housing in Port Hedland in accordance with BHP Billiton Iron Ore's Housing policy.

- Complete allocated cleaning and maintenance tasks as per the daily and weekly plan.
- Follow specific operating and maintenance procedures.
- Operation of workshop and mobile equipment.
- Carrying out checks on equipment as required.
- Undertaking housekeeping and housekeeping inspections.
- Facilitating shift changeovers.
- Undertake training as required to gain new skills.
- Take personal responsibility for helping the team achieve expected results by doing what is required and taking timely actions within the scope of competence without being supervised.
- Take responsibility to identify and find solutions to day to day problems in the process plant.
- Actively participate in all activities, volunteering ideas and exchanging information freely.
As the successful candidate you will possess the following:
Qualifications:
- 'C' class manual driver's licences essential.
- MR/HR drivers licence, dogman and forklift ticket desirable.
- Completion of Year 10 minimum requirement.
- Sound communication skills;
- Team oriented.
- Previous experience in a similar role is desirable.
