In this atypical role you'll have significant input into drill and blast success and be responsible for providing technical advice and input to planning and mining methods. Your key responsibilities will include the development and implementation of drill and blast plans and designs, supervision of the mining contractor and close liaison with the planning, geology and production teams to ensure efficient drilling and ore recovery. You will critically assess blasting, monitoring key criteria such as vibration, fragmentation and dilution and subsequently optimising as appropriate. Seeking out constant improvement to performance and methodology, you will be a key part of the mining team.
To be considered for this opportunity you will hold a tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering and have proven experience in an open pit hard rock mining operation, specifically in drill & blast. You will have knowledge of the relevant software and the desire to drive Drill & Blast excellence. This position is on a FIFO 8/6 roster from Perth, with above-market remuneration on offer, at a thrilling project going from strength to strength.
