About Our Client
Our client is a global provider of rental air compressors and steam generator equipment for the offshore oil and gas industry. Throughout the years they have established themselves in various parts in Indonesia to provide ongoing service commitment at onsite service points. With over a century’s worth in rental experience supplying a wide variety of markets including engineering, building and construction, mining and resources, manufacturing, government and specialist events, they are currently looking for a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead their finance team in Balikpapan location.

Job Description
This is an opportunity for a high calibre Chief Financial Officer to work in partnership with the General Manager in taking the business to the next phase of its development. The role requires an experienced commercial and analytical accountant with an evidenced track record of success, to join a senior management team focused on growing the business in terms of sales and profitability. The ideal CFO candidate will be capable of contributing both to the growth and strategic development of the business while maintaining a strong controls environment. Key deliverables include:
  • Maximising the efficiency and profitability of the business through process and system improvement risk management, and a strong understanding of the commercial drivers of the business.
  • Maintaining and enhancing the integrity of financial, commercial and accounting processes and provide accurate analysis and monthly performance reporting and preparing accurate business forecasts and budgets, advising on risk management priorities and opportunities to enhance profitability and return on capital based on benchmarking and competitive trends.
  • Acting as a business partner to the President Director using detailed monthly results and variance analysis and make recommendations to the business
  • Prepare monthly schedules and journals to enable branch contribution, reporting and analysis.
  • Review detailed monthly results and analyse monthly results, variance analysis for submission to the President Director and make adjustments as required.
  • Identify own and subordinates’ training needs and make recommendations. Recruit where needed also
  • Participate in financial audits and ensure financial reporting is completed in line with company policies and procedures and accounting standards.


The Successful Applicant
You will have worked in MNC’s and be familiar with global business practices. As the HQ is in Australia you will be used to deadlines, time pressures and demanding stakeholders and conducting business in English (verbal and written). You must demonstrate the highest levels of integrity, commercial acumen and business maturity. Moreover, you must be technically astute but most importantly will respond to the demands of working in a foreign business and MNC culture.

Key experiences you must come with include:
  • Track record of compliance with all relevant regulations and statutory requirements in order to minimise company risk, exposure and liabilities in performing key accountabilities and responsibilities
  • Contribution to overall business profitability and Return on Total Assets (ROTA) results through the seeking of opportunities for cost reduction and efficiencies in doing business, and capitalising on opportunities to grow the business
  • Track record of mentoring and developing the highest calibre teams and individuals and introducing robust financial processes and procedures
  • You will ideally have a professional accounting qualification and Tax qualifications also
