An opportunity has arisen to join one of the market leaders in Iron Ore. With operations across WA they have a strong position as one of the world's market leaders. Due to a recent departure they currently require a mine planning engineer to join their technical team for their Perth based offices.

As mine planning engineer you will be responsible for creating and implementing short term mine plans & designs that provide a safe working environment, ensure continuous iron ore supply, and effective and efficient waste movement. You will ensure mine designs & plans are agreed to geotechnical, economic and operational parameters and liaise with other departments and contractors to ensure targets and goals are achieved. Occasional work away from Perth will be required.

The successful candidate will have mine design/planning and Scheduling experience with a sound knowledge of equipment operations, technical design and optimisation, geology, modeling and grade control. You will have a degree qualification and proven experience in an open pit mining engineering role and preferably 4 years + in a similar role. A WA Quarry managers Certificate is advantageous though not essential. Experience on Vulcan software is also advantageous.

In return a salary of $120-140k + Super is offered along with a generous holiday entitlement and benefits package. The role is Perth based giving a healthy work life balance.
