Job Description

Supervise the Technical Operations IT support activities and a team of Marine Database Administrators responsible for the planning, installation, operations, support, troubleshooting and monitoring of Technical Operations Computerized Maintenance Management System (Infoship) and Ship Stability and Electronic Logbook (NAPA) applications plus all related infrastructure in all ships of the Carnival fleet.

Responsibilities Include:
• Supervise the Technical Operations IT support activities.
• Supervise and oversee the team of Marine DBA’s
• Develop, implement and continuously improve the key technical support processes for the CMMS (Infoship & NAPA system)
• Lead problem analysis process (e.g. identify recurring incidents) and ensure appropriate alternatives are evaluated, recommend solutions, and manage the implementation of the approved resolution plan.
• Provide remote technical support to technical operations systems and applications deployed across the fleet.
• Ensure documentation is developed, tested and maintained with the procedures to deploy patches and upgrades to systems.
• Ensure Marine DBA’s are fully trained to deploy patches and upgrades. Plan, manage and deploy system and applications patches and upgrades to technical operations systems.
• Plan and oversee the installation of technical operations applications to new ships while coordinating internal and external technical resources required for project completion.
• Log and track all technical support requests and incidents in help-desk application.
• Ensure test environment needs are addressed.
• Ensure systems are monitored and preventive maintenance is performed.

Desired Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Management Information System or similar discipline is required.
• Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the planning, installation, operations, support, troubleshooting and monitoring of a mixed and complex environment consisting of Microsoft Windows Server 2003/2008 and Wintel applications.
• Experience with CMMS applications.
• Must have a proven history of successfully supervising a technical support services organization (3-5 years).
• An overall degree of familiarity with technologies such as Microsoft SQL Database, SQL scripting, IIS, TCP/IP and Microsoft Windows Server 2008 is necessary to fulfill the position responsibilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• An understanding of project management methodologies and tools accompanied with strategic thinking to find solutions to complex problems that can balance short and long-term objectives.
• Ability to participate in a 7x24 on-call support function. Ability to travel 15% of the time, including international travel in our ships.
• Experience in the use and implementation of dashboard tools (e.g. Qlickview) is a plus.
• Must have strong leadership qualities; Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
