Reliability Engineer
Georgia Pacific - Savannah River Mill - Rincon, GA

RESPONSIBILITIES:

There are multiple openings for Reliability Engineer positions that will cover a wide range of expertise. The reliability engineering team is responsible for supporting the operating departments in the implementation of the following reliability concepts:
· Reliability Centered Maintenance/Asset Strategy Development
· Root Cause Analysis
· Operating Envelope
· Mechanical Integrity of Fixed Equipment
· Predictive Maintenance technologies (vibration and oil analysis, thermography, motor testing , NDT, ultrasound, etc)
· Preventative Maintenance
· Precision Maintenance
· Operator Basic Care
· Lubrication

This position will work closely with both operations and maintenance in the development of long-term equipment maintenance strategies as well as collaborating with corporate reliability engineering steering teams and other GP facilities to learn and implement industry best practices.


There are also potential opportunities for this position to directly supervise hourly reliability technicians, depending upon the candidate’s leadership background and qualifications. Successful Reliability Engineers with growth potential may also qualify in the future to move into larger leadership/engineering roles in the operations, maintenance or project engineering departments.


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited university (Mechanical or Chemical preferred). Candidates with other technical degrees and significant applicable experience may also be considered.
· Minimum 3 years of maintenance and reliability experience with rotating and/or fixed equipment in an industrial environment.
· Completion of Essential Reliability Engineering Skills courses (applicable only to internal GP candidates).
· Absolute commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.


PREFERED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
· Experience in pulp and paper industry or power generation
· Supervisory experience in a technical environment
· Working knowledge of Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) and ability to facilitate Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
· Working knowledge of predictive maintenance technologies and preventative maintenance systems
· Very Strong PC skills with MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point and capable of quickly learning new software programs and performing extensive data analysis
