Job Description

We are currently seeking a Senior Petroleum Engineer to join Origin's CSG Reservoir Management Team whose primary responsibility is to provide reservoir engineering and general subsurface expertise in the management of existing producing assets including and ongoing pilot operations. The role will also be instrumental in the planning, execution and analysis of an extensive exploration and appraisal program in our world class Coal Seam Gas to LNG project Australia Pacific LNG.
Principal responsibilities of this role are the requirements to:

• Monitoring of reservoir performance and updating of reservoir model historical data as appropriate
• Planning / analysis of ongoing E&A program
• Support reservoir characterization activities through data collection and subsequent analysis
• Forecasting of field performance through analytical and simulation techniques
• Long term development studies and analysis
• Support low perm team in monitoring pilot performance
• Mentoring and training of junior team members

The ability to demonstrate sound working knowledge in the following areas will highly desirable:

• Reservoir characterization packages (eg Petrel)
• DST analysis
• Past experience in unconventional reservoirs including planning of E&A activities
• Experience with uncertainty tools
• Experience in fractured reservoirs
• Simulation Experience

Tertiary qualifications in Petroleum Engineering are required along with a deep understanding of classical reservoir engineering principles and prior experience in unconventional development projects. The successful candidate will possess a thorough knowledge of geoscience, reservoir modelling workflow & systems and petroleum development economics. Previous experience in unconventional gas development will be highly regarded.
