Requirements for the role:
- Integration of rock mechanics design into the mine planning process
- Responsible for ensuring mine development and production activities and active mine areas are maintained to ensure an acceptable level of risk from geotechnical hazards by coordinating all daily and long term geotechnical requirements for the section
- Considerable interaction with operations and planning staff in design, blasting practices and major ground reinforcement design.
The Successful Candidate Will Possess:
- Minimum 1 year underground experience in rock mechanics/geotech metalliferous hard rock mining
- Mining Engineering, Engineering Geology, Geotechnical or related undergraduate degree
- Practice safe work ethics
- Competent user of Microsoft Packages ie. Word, Excel, Powerpoint
- Sound planning/task scheduling skills
- Ability to work without supervision/team environment and organise work effectively
- Able to accept responsibility
- Valid Manual Drivers Licence
