Job Description

A challenging opportunity has been created for an exceptional Operations Geologist to support the greater Santos business in our Exploration and Subsurface team.

Reporting to the Manager Operations Geology, you will be charged with ensuring that all wells which the company has an interest in are evaluated to accurately define their true hydrocarbon potential and delivered to approved programmes cost-effectively. Your vast experience will allow you to provide expert advice on collection & evaluation of geological and other data during drilling operations and you will collaborate with drilling, contractors, project teams and Joint Venture Partners to ensure alignment of well evaluation requirements.

You will also contribute by providing Well Site Geology to complex offshore wells along with Operational Geology Support across the broader business.

Desired Skills & Experience

With degree qualification in Geology, you will have extensive well site and Geology Operations experience in both onshore and offshore environments. With a high level of understanding of drilling operations and expertise in well logging technique, you will excel in analysis and the resolution of issues through your well planning skills.

Your strong leadership and mentoring skills will allow you to impart your knowledge both across the business and as a mentor to other staff.

This role may require short duration international postings.
