We are currently recruiting for an experienced Manager Mining Engineering to lead and manage a team of Senior Mining and Geotechnical Engineers based in our West Perth office. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Short, medium and long term mine planning for complex multiple open pit operations
- Geotechnical and hydrological aspects of mining operations
- Optimisation of resources and generation of open pit designs
- Compilation of the Annual Reserves Report
- Managing the approvals process for mining operations
- Specific project work, including underground mining studies, optimisation of mining reconciliation, scenario planning and feasibility studies
- Providing input into strategic planning and decision making particularly within the Geology & Technical Services Group
- Developing strong working relationships with site based operational staff and working cooperatively towards agreed objectives
To be successful in this role, you will hold a tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering and will have previously held senior positions involving planning and scheduling within open pit and underground environments. Experience and knowledge of geotechnical and hydrological engineering would be beneficial as well as previous involvement in feasibility studies.
With a broad understanding of the Australian mining industry you will also be self-motivated and possess high level verbal and written communication skills. A 1stClass Mine Managers or Quarry Managers certificate would also be desirable.
Whilst this role will be based in our West Perth office regular visits to site will be required. The successful candidate will be offered a competitive remuneration package as well as the opportunity to work with an experienced team within our organisation.

Consmin’s wholly owned subsidiary, Pilbara Manganese, owns and operates the Woodie Woodie Manganese mine, located approximately 400km southeast of Port Hedland in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. The mine is recognised internationally as a reliable independent supplier of high-grade, low-impurity manganese to global markets. Mining operations at Woodie Woodie utilise traditional open-pit mining methods, with ore being sourced from open pits and blended to maintain consistent product specifications.
Consmin’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Pilbara Chromite, owns and operates the Coobina Chromite operation (Australia's only operating Chromite mine), located 80km south-east of Newman in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.
Ghana Operations:
Consmin, through its wholly owned subsidiaries, owns 90% of Ghana Manganese Company Limited (GMC). The remaining 10% is owned by the Government of Ghana. GMC owns and operates the Nsuta manganese mine in the western region of Ghana. GMC holds a mining concession for manganese over an area of 175 square kilometres in and around Nsuta in the Western Region of Ghana, less than 3% of which has been mined to date.
