Job Description

The position of Principal Analyst, Drilling is first and foremost an ambassador of QRI. They exhibit the best aspects and highest levels of QRI's technical and business development talent. Responsible for all QRI drilling engineering client based initiatives, provide oversight and leadership to other QRI drilling professionals to prepare performance reviews with respect to client drilling and workover programs

Desired Skills & Experience

5 Required Qualifications:
  1. B.Sc. (PhD or Masters preferred) with >3.5 GPA from a notable Oil & Gas Institution (e.g., Stanford, UT, Texas A&M, Colorado School of Mines)
  2. At least a minimum of 5 consecutive years with an IOC (supermajor experience: ExxonMobil, Chevron, or Shell or BP)
  3. A total of at least 20+ years of upstream industry experience.
  4. High tech
  5. Smart

Additional Qualifications:
  1. Innovative & Independent minded.
  2. Applications oriented scientist over an academic orientation.
  3. Highly adaptive to different cultures and customs.
  4. A Socially intelligent perosn who exhibits a low maintenance personality.
  5. High level of proficiency in report writing and utilizing MS word 2007 or 2010.
  6. Good presentation skills and utilization of PowerPoint
  7. Data mining skills and utilization of Excel
  8. Strong drilling operations and well design experience in generating well plans

Position Responsibilites:

The Principal Analyst of Drilling will need demonstrate the highest-level of competency in the following activities:
  • Specialized technical skills and in-depth understanding of new drilling technologies and the impact these have on well performance.
  • A full understanding of and experience with casing design software
  • knowable in directional drilling and LWD systems
  • Operational experience with smart well completion technology and expandable tubular technology
  • Economic and risk analysis capabilities
  • Working knowledge of reservoir and production engineering issues and concepts
  • Current certifications such as “RigPass” are desirable. A professional license in Texas is a plus
  • Strong written and oral communications are required with the ability to make presentations on technical matters within the scope of technical expertise. Foreign language skills (verbal and written) are a plus with emphasis in Spanish, Arabic, Chinese or Russian desirable.

Travel Requirements:

This position requires rotational travel amounting of up to 50% time out-of-country.
