Position Purpose:

With significant construction underway in the GLNG Upstream Development, we are looking for additional Environmental Adviser to join our team on a two year fixed term contact. Reporting to the Upstream Regulatory Compliance Team Leader, you will be responsible for identifying regulatory compliance requirements associated with allocated FEED (Front End Engineering Design) projects. Communicating these requirements to the relevant engineering teams and Project Area Managers and working with our Primary contractors to ensure environmental assessments and all relevant permits and approvals are secured in a timely manner to support execution.
Key Responsibilities
Your roles and responsibilities will include:
  • Ensuring all necessary permits and approvals are identified in collaboration with Santos legal and the primary contractor
  • Identifying and communicating key environmental constraints and design requirements to Santos and Contractor stakeholders to support engineering design and project execution
  • Providing weekly reports of progress against the delivery of the required permits and approvals to support execution of the allocated projects
  • Reviewing reports, proposals and plans provided by the contractors to ensure consistency with Santos policy and legal obligations.
  • Researching and responding to technical queries raised by FEED Teams and Contractors about Compliance and Identify and investigate, and suggest improvements
  • Ensuring all new GLNG standards, legal requirements, procedures and protocols are provided to Contractors in a timely and appropriate matter.
  • Staying abreast of new and changed compliance references – legal and other obligations committed by GLNG
To be successful in this position you will have:
Essential to be considered, you must have:
  • Relevant Bachelor of Science or Engineering
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience (8-10 years preferable) in an similar position
  • Project experience in Oil and Gas, mining or construction
  • Extensive knowledge of reviews and approvals of EMP’s, impact monitoring and assessment, state and federal legislation, analysis and reporting of technical data
This is a highly effective team and we are looking for a self-motivated individual with high levels of initiative and adaptability. You will have excellent interpersonal skills to continue to develop internal and external stakeholder relationships within a multi-disciplined area of the GLNG project.
Other Considerations
We are currently offering a two year Fixed Term Contract, please note this positon is based in Brisbane, however regular travel to the field may be required
