Job Description

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Senior Electrical Engineer will lead the development of the electrical philosophy regarding electrical safety, practices and procedures applicable to small project design, construction, commissioning, maintenance and operation of key equipment for the Australia Pacific LNG Operations on Curtis Island. As the Technical Authority, you will play a key role in Commissioning and Start Up phases, right through to operations of the facility.


Key Role and Responsibilities
  • Ensuring compliance to operating procedures in compliance with electrical standards;
  • Developing electrical standards safe work procedures for the facility;
  • Monitor electrical technical and safety performance of operations and contractors;
  • Power Generation systems, including UPS, Induction Motors;
  • Electrical Switching: High/ Medium/ Low voltage;
  • Technical Authority for Electrical Engineering function;
  • Providing technical oversight to Commissioning and Start Up teams on Operational Readiness activities;
  • Development of Electrical engineering standards, process models and troubleshooting;
  • Provide oversight for electrical design review and risk assessments;  

Desired Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate the following experience and qualifications:

Required
  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering;
  • Knowledge of Australian and Industry Electrical regulations and codes;
  • Industry in Oil & Gas, or other related heavy industry;
  • Commissioning and Start Up experience, preferably on a similar project;
  • Experience as Electrical Technical Authority;

Preferred
  • Previous experience with Commissioning and Start Up
  • Management of Change practices
