Senior Mining Engineer - Residential

This global intermediate producer operate four gold mines in three countries, they currently manage gold production of up to 260,000 ounces and are aiming to increase production to 350,000 ounces by 2015
They are now looking for a Senior Mining Engineer with a strong planning background to work in their Kalgoorlie operation.

This is a Senior position which reports to the Technical Services Superintendent of the mine and is ultimately responsible for coordinating and aligning the planning operation of this well established underground mine.

The duties and responsibilities include:
  • Long term planning
  • Construction of stope extraction notes
  • Short to medium term planning including development designs
  • Planning, organising and management of external contractors
  • Cover for Senior Production Engineer when required
  • Mentoring of planning and graduate mine engineers


QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE / SKILLS

  • Tertiary Qualification in Mining Engineering
  • 5+ Years Experience, ideally 2 years at a Senior level
  • Experience in Longterm Planning and Underground Drill & Blast
  • Good Observation Skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a high pressure environment
  • Good working knowledge of underground mining cycle and procedures
  • Experience in Vulcan & Datamine (Highly advantageous)
