Job Description

Summary
The Regional Recruiter is responsible for developing an understanding of the assigned region’s workforce planning needs and developing active sourcing and talent acquisition strategies to pro-actively identify, attract and hire best-in- talent for the region. He/she supports ongoing internal and/or external talent needs by managing all aspects of candidate generation.

Key Responsibilities
-Interpret internal employment demands and translate them into timely, results -driven action items
-Support Merck’ initiatives by ensuring best candidates are internally or externally sourced and hired within the appropriate guidelines
-Develop and administer sourcing strategies for identifying and recruiting potential new hires, develop, execute, and monitor online candidate search campaigns using a variety of internet search engines as a delivery vehicle for producing quality candidates
-Pro-actively identify and define the position and challenge Hiring Managers and HR BPs on positioning of requirement (ie. GG, expertise, skill sets, complementary profiles …)
-Develop and execute innovative search techniques to generate a pool of internal and /or external candidates necessary to staff open positions
-Act as a primary liaison to all sourcing contacts
-Generate candidate leads through e-mails, cold calls, and field presence
-Map targeted talent and build Merck's knowledge base for talents
-Place advertising with vendors in compliance with local and regional guidelines and company policies
-Conduct screening of resumes and initial behavior-based phone screens or in person interviews (when feasible) and refer candidates for the next level of interviews
-Conduct reference checks when appropriate, communicate status of selection process to applicants , and develop with HRBP, TR and Hiring Manager employment offers
-Interact with hiring managers regarding all openings and candidate status and ensure all positions are posted internally and externally in a qualitative and attractive way
-Evaluate a campaign's value based upon its cost effectiveness and ability to attract top-level candidates
-Attend large scale recruitment events (like career days, job fairs or professional trade shows) as well as campus recruitment’s and build a strong rapport with universities in the assigned region
-Closely interact with other teams within CoEs, HRBPs, Hiring Managers, HR Services

Desired Skills & Experience

Education and Experience Requirements

-Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field
-At least 5 years recruiting experience, ideally in a recruiting agency or Executive Search
-A proven experience on pro-active sourcing with deep usage of professional networks and CV databases
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office and management system software as well as Applicant Tracking Systems and Tools such as recruiting and social/professional medias
-Excellent English language skills (verbal and written), German or French are an asset
