A part of the Mineral Resources group, Crushing Services International provides tailored build-own-operate contracting, screening and processing plants as well as specialised mine services in Australia and overseas. Our Kwinana Workshop is located in the Kwinana industrial precinct adjacent to Kwinana Beach.
 
In this instance, we are seeking a dedicated Workshop Superintendent to provide oversight and direction to Workshop resources to effectively and efficiently deliver required outcomes on Jobs and Projects with respect to safety, personnel, productivity, quality and timing.
 
Principal activities undertaken at the Workshop include the manufacture, assembly, overhaul and refurbishment of Plant and Equipment required for both new and existing crushing, screening and materials handling plants as owned and operated by the Company.
 
This position, reporting to the Workshop Manager and will be responsible for:
  • Proactively managing and developing Workshop staff, leading by example and ensuring appropriate manning and skill levels are maintained
  • Planning, preparation and review of job/ project packages and schedules to effectively requisition and allocate resources to ensure completion of jobs and projects within specified time scales.
  • Ensure tooling, machinery, equipment condition is monitored and maintained.
  • Liaising with other Managers and stakeholders to maintain effective communication lines between workshop, project and head office staff.
  • Monitor and review costs to ensure adherence to job /project estimations and budgets, and report.
  • Progress reporting to stakeholders and management on a regular basis.
  • Actively seek and pursue opportunities for continuous improvement.
 
The ideal candidate will have:
  • Minimum 5 years demonstrated previous supervisory/ management experience within an engineering workshop, process plant or similar environment
  • Ideally - Mechanical or Boilermaker Trade background.
  • Ability to lead and manage teams
  • Demonstrated initiative and creative problem solving skills
  • Good communication skills, both oral and written
  • Practical knowledge and understanding of computers and Microsoft software packages
