Job Description



Primary Objective:

As Lead Pipelines Engineer you will initiate and oversee specific design tasks performed by engineers relating to subsea pipeline engineering.

Specific Accountabilities
  • Supervising and ensuring of the technical competences of all subsea/ offshore pipelines engineering personnel on the project.
  • Responsible for the forecast requirement for subsea/ offshore pipelines engineering resources, and allocate those resources.
  • Ensuring the design integrity of work scope and maintenance of standards set by both the company and the client.
  • Identify subsea/ offshore pipeline software, if necessary, to enable structural group to function effectively.
  • Manages subsea/ offshore pipeline discipline man hour estimates to perform project tasks.
  • Check compliance with Alliance QA/safety/environment goals.
  • Manage subsea/ offshore pipelines engineering design and any design changes within budget and schedule.
  • Promote cost reduction and productivity enhancing initiatives.
  • Technical supervision of engineers, designers and draftsmen in the execution of their duties.
  • Review weekly progress and expenditure reports on a project specific basis.
  • Benchmark and identify areas of improvements within the discipline.
  • Quality Assurance – Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance system relevant to the Project.
  • Safety – Responsible for personal safety safe working practices for the Project. Understand and follow OH&S procedures.

  • Job Requirements

  • Bachelors of Mechanical Engineering with 12+ years’ relevant pipeline experience on offshore projects.
  • Proven track record in leading a team within the organization.
  • Proven track record of exceeding performance metrics.
  • Good working knowledge of DNV Related Codes & Recommended Practices.
  • Knowledge of offshore construction methods and flowline installation.
  • An understanding of the technical issues related to high pressure, high temperature deepwater flowlines.
  • An understanding of the interaction between risers and flowlines
  • Good pipeline layout and routing experience
  • Ability to interface and work closely with other disciplines in the project team and with the client.
