Role Details
Gold Fields Australia is currently seeking a Trades Assistant to join their Dewatering Team at St Ives Gold Mine.
Reporting to the Dewatering Coordinator, you will be responsible for assisting in the provision of quality and timely mechanical maintenance and repairs of the dewatering facilities and other areas of the operation as required.
This role is offered on an 8 days on, 6 days off and 8 nights on and 6 nights off roster and would require the incumbent to be residential in Kalgoorlie or Kambalda.
WIFI enabled coach transportation is offered to and from site daily and relocation assistance will be offered to the successful candidate if required.

- Supporting the efficient operation of the production facilities by providing reliable and accurate maintenance knowledge and practical application to minimise down time;
- Ensuring the achievement of budgeted maintenance targets by assisting in the provision of preventative maintenance through scheduled inspections, servicing, adjustments, troubleshooting and timely repair of plant equipment;
- Maintaining a working knowledge of all task instructions and procedures and ensure that these are consistently adhered to when carrying out maintenance tasks;
- Maximising return on assets through effective utilisation, care and security of maintenance equipment and tools;
- Complete all administrative processing requirements associated with maintenance duties, such as requisitioning of parts and materials, processing of maintenance orders and recording of labour time;
- Consistently demonstrate and reflect behaviours, actions and attitudes in line with the company's Vision, Values and Code of Ethics.
Key factors to your success include;
- Holding a valid HR drivers licence is compulsory;
- Recognised trade qualifications such as a Polywelding Certificate is advantageous;
- Having current Crane, Dogging, EWP, Forklift and Senior First Aid tickets are essential;
- It is imperative that you have previous experience in mechanical maintenance in a mining environment;
