Maintenance Superintendent

Site based | 8:6 roster | FIFO Perth or DIDO Kalgoorlie.
Saracen Mineral Holdings Limited (ASX:SAR) is a listed gold producer boasting excellent infrastructure strategically situated in the world class North Eastern Kalgoorlie Goldfields of Western Australia.
Building on a solid 120,000 Oz p.a. production profile (FY12), Saracen is steadily moving towards 180,000 Oz p.a. production through organic development of its main open pit and underground resources coupled with third party toll treatment brought about by the expansion of the processing plant to 3.2 Mtpa.
Reporting to the Mill Manager your main areas of responsibilities will include;
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of the maintenance team, including; planning and coordinating all maintenance activity, predictive and preventative maintenance in consultation with the Production Superintendent and other key department representatives.
  • Ensure that maintenance is managed according to the Maintenance Strategy and procedures for the site as updated in accordance with Business Plans.
  • Plan and manage plant maintenance shutdowns on a regular basis in accordance with the budget for shutdown activities.
  • Manage safety during plant maintenance shutdowns in accordance with the Safety Management Systems for Carosue Dam and ensure that all contractors are aware of the systems and safety requirements.
  • Prepare the annual maintenance budget for review by the Processing Superintendent.
  • Ensure all maintenance personnel are trained to perform their duties in a competent and safe manner, and that the safety of other employees, contractors and the general public is maintained.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews with direct reports and review the performance reviews of subordinates once removed.
  • Attend and contribute to the daily production meeting and weekly maintenance-planning meeting.
Skills and experience:
  • Mechanical or Electrical Trade qualification
  • Minimum of 8 years post apprenticeship maintenance experience in a mining, heavy or continuous process industry environment.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a Maintenance Superintendent position or similar role.
  • Knowledge of maintenance planning principles and procedures and computerised maintenance planning systems. (PRONTO, MINCOM).
  • Knowledge of maintenance management systems and procedures.
  • Budgeting, cost control and KPI monitoring processes
