Our client is a medium sized owner operator, mining one of Australia’s most highly valued commodities. As a result of growth in the sector, they currently have a need for a Junior Geotechnical Engineer to work within their underground operation. Their mine is located in North Queensland and it provides the kind of work/ life balance that is highly sought after. The benefit of working with a company of this size is that you will get a greater exposure to a range of areas and more control over your work.

Reporting into the Senior Geotechnical Engineer, your day to day duties will involve the following:

•Geotechnical mapping
•Geotechnical monitoring
•Identification and management of geotechnical risks and hazard planning
•Excavation design and planning
•Stability analysis
•Data collection
To be considered for this role, the following criteria would be required:
 •Underground geotechnical engineering experience
•Tertiary qualifications in geotechnical engineering or similar
•2+ years of experience in an Australian underground mining environment
•The ability to work in a team environment as well as unsupervised.
•A strong commitment to high HS&E workplace standards
•Permanent residency in Australia or citizenship
