Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES:The General Manager for Germany will be responsible for contributing his/her market knowledge, business relationships and direct work experience to lead the development of YuMe’s business in Germany. Specific challenges include:
- Refining and implementing YuMe’s strategic initiatives –Media (advertising network and advertising sales) - software and services (YuMe ACE Platform) and revenue goals including the development of a comprehensive “go-to-market strategy” that positions YuMe as the industry innovator and leader
- Writing, executing and taking responsibility for a 3 year business plan (generating significant and profit after a period of investment) for YuMe Germany
- Leveraging YuMe resources and best practices in order to align YuMe’s product strategy with “local” requirements
- Ensuring that the positioning of the company’s services and products in order to achieve a lasting leadership position in the marketplace
- Working closely with YuMe’s European Headquarters in London and YuMe’s global headquarters in Redwood City, CA and in Chennai, India (Engineering and Ad Operations Center) to ensure the consistent deliver of the highest quality products and services
- Working with Marketing counterparts to develop materials that position YuMe effectively in the marketplace
- Securing new and or expanding existing business relationships that generate long-term revenue and profit.
- At least 10 years of experience in the advertising services and technology industry preferred;
- Prior General Management experience would be useful, but sales, business development and sales management experience is essential
- Ability to build a business and drive results by leveraging and optimizing all available resources in a highly entrepreneurial environment
- Excellent relationships in the German advertising or publisher market that lead to sales
- Strategic and business acumen that enables the development and execution of short and long term plans that drive “best-in-class” results
- Outstanding communication skills and the ability to interface and build credibility across internal groups as well as outside partners and vendors
- Strong financial skills including the ability to build business cases develop and manage P&L’s, etc.
- Experience selling advertising and/or digital services to, media companies, Media Agencies and Advertisers
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills; Fluency in German and solid English language skills is mandatory
- Highly developed organizational skills
- Conceptual ability to envision the business as it could be and the drive to implement those changes
