Senior Production Engineer - Central Western NSW

Senior Production Engineer

This high grade underground mine located in Central Western NSW is looking for a new team member. The company is currently in the middle of a multi-million dollar shaft extension, therefore there is a unique opportunity for a Production Engineer to join this team.

The town features modern amenities with schools, health and social facilities. For people wishing to relocate to the area there is a regional relocation grant scheme to assist you.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide general technical assistance and contribute ideas to the Technical Services team
• Supervise the Production and Graduate Engineers to ensure weekly mining schedules, back fill activities, ventilation management and drill and blast schedules are being carried out
• Resolve production/scheduling conflicts in the Technical Services team.
• Liaise with other senior engineers, Geology Superintendent and Tech Services Superintendent and Mining Superintendents to ensure relevant information is obtained
• Create and maintain medium term (3-12 month) mining schedules that will enable budget targets to be met safely
• Assist the Technical Services Superintendent in the preparation of monthly financial accruals, reviewing of mining costs and transfers

Qualifications:

• Tertiary qualifications in Mine Engineering
• Proven experience of 6 + years in an underground metalliferous environment and exposure to mine planning software
• Experience in mine software – Surpac and Vent Sim would be advantageous
• Experience in Underground mine
• Proven understanding of safety, risk awareness and identification of hazards
• Exceptional personnel management and communications skills
