We are currently seeking an Actuary or Actuarial Advisor, with a strong focus on pricing, to assist QBE Australia & New Zealand Operations in obtaining and managing profitable business through providing actuarial support for a designated general insurance product.

In this role you will be responsible for the following:-
  • Primarily managing pricing projects including defining project scope, supervising technical stages, communicating results and implementing agreed outcomes
  • Identifying appropriate strategies to support long term shareholder value and manage risk to the organisation;
  • Understanding and applying all relevant standard actuarial pricing and rating techniques, with the ability to modify standard pricing techniques as appropriate;
  • Complying with all legislation, industry codes and company policies and procedures; and
  • Supporting the valuation process including all related financial disclosure requirements.
To be successful in this role you will possess the following experience:
  • Nearly or newly qualified Actuary with a good understanding of general insurance
  • Ability to produce a high standard of written reports, and communicate in a clear and effective manner.
  • Experience working in a technical personal lines pricing role including use of standard pricing techniques
  • Experience in natural peril pricing would be advantageous
  • Ability to liaise with stakeholders to communicate and implement pricing changes
  • Highly competent in use of standard software packages (SAS and Excel at a minimum)
