This role is based at our Lake Vermont Coal Project near Dysart, Thiess is responsible for total mine operation, mine planning, including mining, coal processing and train load-out. Reporting directly to the Manager Coal Reconciliation and accountable for ensuring coal resources are optimally mined to deliver production targets in a manner that maximises the safety, efficiency innovation, and cost effectiveness of the business.

In this role, you will:

• Monitor coal mining activities by maintaining effective systems and liaising with the technical services and CHPP team,


• Conduct regular pit and Run of Mine (ROM) inspections, monitoring coal-recovery and contamination to ensure optimal coal reconciliations


• Ensure reconciliation of mined blocks for model validation


• Keep accurate statistical records for forecasted coal exposure, coal losses and actual mined quantities for each pit, strip and block.

We're looking for the right candidate who brings significant experience in an open cut mining environment. A Geology or Mining Engineering degree is preferred.
