Cost Engineer

12 month contract
As the Cost Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the adequacy of cost control systems, methods and procedures for monitoring, analyzing, forecasting and controlling contractor and company capital and expense costs. The Cost Engineer will also act in a support function for analyzing contractor / self performed cost data and forecasting project cost to keep project management informed and aware of any potential project cost changes.
In-line with this objective, you will participate in early project activities related to reviewing and upgrading cost control procedures. Assist in set up and progress project cost in Oracle or other applications. You will support appraisal performance of contractor's / self performed cost control personnel, coordinate flow of information related to contractor input into the contractor's estimate and to the recasting effort associated with the control estimate. Finally, you will work with the cost control team to implement cost control and invoice processing systems, provide cost variance analysis and review change proposals for completeness and adequacy of costs.
To be considered for this position you will possess:
  • 10+ Years Experience
  • Cost Engineering experience within an EPCM environment
  • Project experience within the Oil & Gas, Resource and/or Construction sectors
  • Prior experience multitasking with multiple projects
  • Cost Management systems knowledge. Oracle, SAP, Excel knowledge preferred
  • Engineering degree (preferred)
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills
  • Clear and accurate communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • The ability to assimilate into a busy project team environment
