Job Description
This Generator Engineer Leader is responsible for providing leadership and technical support for the generator business segment and drive safety, quality and profitable results in the repair and service of power generation equipment. The position will be first shift or second shift with weekend and after hours support as necessary and will directly supervise the hourly workforce on the assigned shift. In this position, you will:- Provide accurate and detailed job planning and written schedules
- Provide procedures, work instructions and technical oversight of work in process
- Support business needs for supervisory and technical expertise on all shifts as needed
- Promote a safe workplace and provide support for all EHS programs and goals
- Lead the hourly workforce to ensure highest level quality on repair projects
- Promote a high quality culture and support all business quality initiatives and goals
- Lead repair execution to ensure the best possible cycle and cost
- Interface effectively with other GE teams including Power Services, engineering and the commercial team to ensure customer CTQs are satisfied
- Explain technical aspects of the projects to customers, commercial team and other internal groups
- Support lean and variable cost productivity initiatives
- Develop and lead projects to drive better utilization of the workforce and minimize cost
- Provide job tracking details, inspection data, technical results and final report documentation within established timeline
Desired Skills & Experience
Qualifications/Requirements:- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or a Technical Discipline with a minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical equipment testing and rotating component repair

- Prior union hourly team leadership experience
- Field engineering experience in maintenance and testing of generator components
- Generator specialist experience in generator rewind, repair and testing
- Six Sigma Green Belt certified (GE Employees only)
- Project management skills
