Job Description

  • Three roles available
The role
The Enterprise Architect will work closely with the Principal Manager Enterprise Architecture and agency architects, to develop holistic enterprise-wide architectures that enable the overarching Transport cluster strategy. The primary focus of the Enterprise Architect will be to;
  • Develop the overarching guidelines, principles and standards of the Transport Enterprise Architecture Framework.
  • Develop target state architectures and roadmaps that enable major strategic objectives and business change for the whole Transport cluster.
  • Provide architectural assurance to projects to ensure that investments deliver on long terms goals and represent value for money while delivering on short terms business needs
  • Guide and mentor domain architects, solution architects and designers.
  • Foster collaboration across the cluster through promoting common architectural approaches, sharing of existing assets and developing common services.

There are three enterprise architect roles currently available. The different focuses for these roles are:
  1. Responsible for the enterprise architecture within the many large infrastructure transformation programs that are currently being undertaken.
  2. Generalist enterprise architecture duties
  3. Generalist enterprise architecture responsibilities, with oversight on solution architectures for the group.

Selection Criteria

1. Extensive demonstrated experience as an enterprise architect within a large and complex organisational environment with multiple business lines
2. High level demonstrated experience in the contribution to the development and assessment of business cases for IT investments with a significant budget and service delivery impact
3. Proven ability to prioritise key investments within a portfolio to effectively achieve strategic outcomes
4. Proven record in providing accurate and timely advice on technical matters for senior management.
5. Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills and the ability to lead and influence stakeholders in critical policy issues.
6. Ability to operate within the values of impartiality; integrity; trust; service; accountability and safety. To carry out responsibilities with professionalism, fairness and commitment and to do so in order to place the customer at the centre of all that is produced and delivered.
7. Tertiary or qualification or equivalent experience in a relevant field.

The Group IT function is responsible for the planning and execution of initiatives across the cluster. It has responsibility for the cluster wide IT strategy, architecture, delivery, operations and commercial environment. It is also responsible for developing the practices across architecture and delivery. IT operates in a federated environment where Operating Agencies are responsible for the delivery of their supporting IT operational systems.
