This role is based at our Lake Vermont Coal Project, 2.5 hours from Mackay. Thiess is responsible for total mine operation and planning, which includes mining, coal processing and train load-out. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining mine design, plans and production schedules to enable recovery of maximum coal resources in the most cost efficient manner, which meet client requirements. You will also provide engineering, technical and environmental services to support production activities and foster innovation.
Leading a team of engineers and surveyors, you will also be committed to high OHS&E standards and, have experience in developing mine design plans and production schedules, have excellent leadership, communication, as well as staff development and negotiation skills. Suitable tertiary qualifications, good time management, planning and cost management skills are essential.
This is a camp based, DIDO role on a Monday-to-Friday roster. Thiess employees are rewarded with the security of a long-term contract and ongoing development opportunities across the national business.
