Job Description


Name of Position : Specialist L&A: (Legal Advisor) Legal Oil

Required outputs: Functional
- Legal advice to Sasol Oil business units,
- A service orientated, customer focussed and dynamic service delivery style,
- Drafting and vetting of various types of legal documents, agreements, including procurement, sales, licensing, franchise and other agreements,
- Providing legal advice, opinions and legal guidance to Sasol Oil business units in the context of their applicable business activities and interpretation on various legal and business issues, which shall include property development,
- Conduct and provide assistance with dispute resolution and litigation matters as well as management of legal disputes on behalf of Sasol business units,
- Management of external legal counsel and services rendered by external legal counsel,
- Assist in identifying, evaluating and mitigating legal compliance risks, identify any legal non-compliance and provide suitable legal compliance advice,
- The rendering of such other legal services and the performing of such other functions as may from time to time be delegated to the incumbent by the Management Team of Legal Services,
- Provide input into legislative processes affecting the relevant business unit,
- Advise on any implications of changes made in law,
- Perform administrative tasks in a legal office environment.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- LLB degree or equivalent, with exceptional academic results (must)
- South African admitted Attorney/qualified Advocate (must)
- Any additional academic or professional qualification/admission in property sphere or being admitted as a notary or conveyancer will be advantageous (wish)

Desired Skills & Experience

SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years post admission experience
- Experience in contract drafting, negotiations and litigation
- Good drafting and negotiation skills are essential
- Property development or property related experience (wish)
