Summary of role
The Business Development Manager will manage all business development aspects of Anixter’s partnerships, with a primary focus on sales revenue and lead generation. The role will balances sales support, partner management, and sales training with the focus of growing the sales funnel.
Main responsibilities / Key goals
  • Responsible for Total Value Selling of Enterprise Cabling Solutions
  • Aggressively prospect and drive new sales, develop account plans and conduct sales calls at all levels of prospective organizations
  • Demand Creation – make cold and warm calls in cooperation with the Inside Sales team for new market initiatives while becoming (technically) knowledgeable about the Company’s data communication products as well as vendors
  • A percentage will be spent on prospecting and uncovering End User opportunities. Uncovered business opportunities will be coursed through our System Integrator/Installer-contractor channels. Candidate is therefore expected to spend a percentage of his/her time supporting/managing Channel Business Partners
  • Provide clients with the infrastructure they need to support their core business, enhance their competitive advantage and provide value to their customers and shareholders
  • Work with the Inside Sales, Global Account, and the regional marketing team to jointly formulate creative marketing plan that will provide support and value to the sales activities
  • Continually work with the regional support team to obtain and develop personal knowledge of key process and products to ensure that up to date, accurate information is provided to customers
  • Is expected to understand and fully articulate the Company’s Total Value Proposition in Enterprise Cabling, Wire and Cable and Security Solutions
Professional Requirements
  • Diploma / Degree in Electronics/Computer Engineering or equivalent (preference would be given to those with RCDD certification)
  • 5-8 years sales experience
    Result oriented with proven achievements in development of accounts and good track record in sales, analytical with ability to influence customers
  • Knowledge of Structured Cabling & Networking products and solutions is required
  • Candidates with existing contacts or established customer base will have added advantage
  • Ability to work with customers on resolution of technical issues
  • Excellent communications, presentation & interpersonal skills
  • Effective project and time management skills
  • Must work well with team environment
  • Good level of proficiency in written/conversational English
  • Self-motivated, willing to learn, result-oriented, independent with good attitude
  • Possesses go-getter attitude and enjoy working in a fast paced, dynamic industry
