SilverSky have been engaged by a global mining organisation to assist them in attracting highly skilled and experiencedDrill & Blast Superintendent for a new Open Cut Coal mining project in Asia. This company boasts numerous high performing operations amongst their Asian portfolio of quality mining assets. The key duties and responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to the following:

• Provide technical support, leadership, coaching and supervision for the operation across all drill and blast activities
• Managing the medium and short term plans for the major operational activities
• Assisting in the development and submission of the operational budgets
• Compliance with health, safety and environmental policies and procedures
• Managing cost strictly against the company budget
• Being accountable for all drill and blast activities on site
• Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills

Your skills, qualifications and experience should include the following:

• 5+ years experience in drill and blast operations
• A strong commitment to high safety, Health and Environment workplace standards
• A demonstrated background within open cut mining
• Demonstrated experience in a supervisory role in a large scale, open cut mining
• Preferably Expat experience
• A team player with well developed interpersonal and communication skills, to enable effective interaction with mine site production personnel and other departments
