Quality Assurance Engineer

Job Description

Work in an independent fashion and assist in developing overall testing strategy with more senior project member. Perform moderately complex quality tasks within appropriate schedule, task, and quality guidelines set in conjunction with the manager of the project.

Responsibilities:
• Accountable for the quality of the delivered product
• Creates & executes all types of test plans for multiple modules
• Identifies risks that impact achieving goals
• Capture data needed for metrics
• Participates in implementing defined testing approach
• Monitors & reports deviations from testing approach
• Participates in defect causal analysis
• Follows defined methodology, standards, etc., and recommends improvements
• Participates in creating project deliverables
• Provides regular status and progress towards milestones with one's manager
• Assist senior team members with complex duties to gain exposure to more advanced software development tasks
• Regularly serve as a quality advisor for others within the organization who need your understanding and expertise
• Regularly contribute to design & code reviews

• Working testing planning and execution skills
• Familiar with using common software deliverables (e.g. data models, design documents, requirements documents, etc.)
• Basic understanding of design, coding and testing techniques
• Effective time management skills
• Basic knowledge and understanding of the relevant technologies and platforms
• Ability to function in a team environment
• Working knowledge of testing methodologies and techniques
• Understanding of business application or product being developed
• Ability to prepare resource and time estimates with a high degree of reliability
