Polaris Metals Pty Ltd (PMPL) is a wholly owned subsidiary of the rapidly growing and highly successful group of companies, Mineral Resources Limited. Polaris provides MRL with vital exploration, geological and mine development expertise, with it’s current project being the development and ultimately the management of a major iron ore resource at the Carina mine site, in the Yilgarn region, located some 140 Km NE of Southern Cross. Initial production from this green-fields site is approximately 4 million tonnes per annum.

This will be a hand' s on position in identifying, exploring and developing our existing and proposed assets in the Yilgarn region of WA. As a key team member you will play a lead role in managing both external and internal parties to achieve the company's goals in identifying and evaluating new deposits.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Design of exploration programmes
• Ground reconnaissance mapping and data collation and interpretation
• Design of drilling programmes
• Gaining the approvals necessary for exploration activity
• Supervision and control of drill programmes including sampling and logging
• Data management
• Periodic reporting as required

Essential Pre-requisites

• Tertiary level education in Geology

• Experience in deeply weathered Archaean greeenstone belt terranne
• The ability to work independently at remote sites
• Excellent communication skills
• Willingness and ability to travel to remote locations, interstate and overseas

Desirable Pre-requisites

• Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently
• Ability to communicate to a diverse group of professionals
• Current Senior First Aid Certificate.
• Knowledge and understanding of computers and Microsoft software packages.
• Experience with GIS software packages
