Job Description

The Senior Program Manager position represents the single point of contact, responsibility and accountability for implementation of large, complex, converged communications solutions for Avaya’s customers. Solution implementations managed by the Senior Program Manager typically encompass integration of Avaya’s and other vendor’s products and applications, within a converged voice, video and data networking environment. This position supports multiple locations, domestic and globally and represents Avaya as a strategic communications and integration partner for Avaya’s customers.

The Senior Program Manager will typically be assigned to support Avaya’s largest, most strategic customers either in a direct sales model or via certified business partners. In general, the position is responsible for ensuring customer needs are satisfied through management and oversight of the overall program plan, budget, schedule, Project Management Office (PMO) and staffing requirements. Ensures the quality of program activities and deliverables of Avaya associates, business partner, customer, and third-party vendors.

You should have
  • Seven to 10 years in large/complex Project or Program Management support in the telecommunications, messaging, computer, Unified Communication or Contact Center or networking industries and/or related technology segments.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing large, complex programs/projects, including staffing and financial responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading cross-functional teams of technical professionals in a highly matrixes environment.
  • Knowledge of established, industry standard project management methodologies (PMI, ITIL). Ability to apply the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) as the foundation for professional project management structure, process, disciplines, tools and deliverables in support of implementing strategic customer programs/projects.
  • Proven leadership abilities, including ability to communicate with C-level executives.
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong professional relationships with customers, business partners and Avaya associates.
  • Strong written and verbal business communications skills, including large-group presentations.
  • Expert-level skills in MS Project and MS Excel.
  • Understanding of general accounting principles and management of project/program financials.
  • Develops and executes comprehensive Project Plans consisting of the following components:

- Program Charter
- Implementation Plan
- Change Management Plan
- Quality Assurance Plan
- Risk Analysis & Contingency Plans
- Escalation Plan
- Training Plan
- Communication Plan
- Solution Test Plan(s)
- Cutover Plan
- Project Acceptance Agreement/Plan
- Onboarding Handoff Plan
