Document Controller - North Strathfield Rail Underpass

John Holland has recently been nominated as an Alliance partner for the $300m North Strathfield Rail Underpass project. Works will include the construction of a new rail underpass and associated civil/structural works, plus construction of new and upgrade of existing rail track and infrastructure. The project is due for completion in 2015.


We are currently seeking an experienced Document Controller to join the Alliance team, located at our site office in Rhodes. Reporting to the Business Systems Manager, you will be responsible for quality management and leading the implementation of document control systems and processes on the project.

Key responsibilities will include:

·  Implement and manage the Project document and records control systems and processes

·  Identify and communicate the document and records management requirements to the Project Team

·  Receive and distribute Project documents and records in accordance with the Project protocols and procedures using the document management system (DMS);

·  Maintain clear legible controlled copies of documents for the Project office;

·  Provide the Project team with up to date document status registers as required;

·  Prepare documentation packages for tender/quotation in accordance with the Project protocols and procedures;

·  In conjunction with the Quality Manager, establish and undertake period reviews/audits of the document and records management by the Project Team;

·  Mange the handover of all documents and records required by the Client to facilitate successful Project handover;

·  Oversee the effective archiving of project records upon Project completion.

To be considered for this role you will have 3-5 years' experience in document management or similar roles on large building and/or construction projects. The key to success in this role will be your high levels of drive and motivation, leadership, communication skills and a proactive approach to problem solving.
