Our Cameby Downs project is an open cut coal operation located in the Surat Basin of southeast Queensland. Macmahon have been responsible for the development and operation of the site, which commenced production of low ash thermal coal in July 2010.
An exciting opportunity now exists for a Senior Mining Engineer to join our Surface Mining Team. Based at the Cameby Downs site, this role will be responsible for providing mining engineering services to the project in order to ensure safe and efficient operations of the site. As a key member of the project team this will include:
· Developing accurate mining schedules, plans and designs
· Monitoring and reporting of team performance against plan and budget
· Collaborating with broader teams and site personnel
· Mentoring and development of team including graduate engineers
To be considered for this position you will have relevant tertiary qualifications in mining engineering, coupled with extensive planning and scheduling experience within an open cut mining environment. Excellent communication skills along with a flexible approach to your work are also required. Strong computer skills are essential and a working knowledge of Vulcan software will be well regarded.
