MyFarm has an excellent track record of performance with an average realised and unrealised rate of return (IRR basis) of 22.3% p.a. measured from 37 farms. Currently MyFarm manage 44 dairy farms representing nearly 36,000 cows and two sheep and beef units running approximately 25,000 s.u. The total portfolio has assets of approximately $500 million. To support this business MyFarm operates offices in Feilding (Head Office), Invercargill and Christchurch.
A strategic review has seen the creation of the role of Southland Regional Manager. You will provide management and leadership for the Southland MyFarm Officeand play a senior executive role in implementing the MyFarm business model. Reporting toGeneral Manager Strategy and Implementation you will have a key focus on achieving production and profit goals in the MyFarm portfolio of Southland farms.This is a key position responsible for maintaining MyFarm as the premier pastoral farm syndication brand in New Zealand.
The successful applicant will have:

  • Demonstrated leadership ability with a track record of successful management at both an operational and strategic level;
  • A sound understanding of the farm management process with a high level of competence in and understanding of physical and financial drivers of New Zealand/ Southland pastoral dairy farm systems;
  • Demonstrated financial management experience in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, the monitoring of expenditure and financial KPIs, and interpretation of financial reports;
  • Proven ability to effectively motivate, coach and performance manage a team of professionals toward achieving business goals and objectives;
  • Effective influencing and negotiating skills that gains cooperation from others to source information, accomplish goals and achieve “win-win” outcomes;
  • A reputation for building productive and collaborative relationships and business networks to achieve goals, find common ground with a wide range of stakeholders, proficient when addressing and resolving areas of concern or dispute;
  • Astute commercial judgement in the management of customers, competitors, stakeholders and business positioning in a relatively complex environment.
