Job Description

I – Job Purpose:
Reporting to the Well and Reservoir Management Team Leader,the successful applicant will provide surveillance focused production engineering support on two producing fields; Bijupira Salema (BJSA) a waterflooded field that came on production in 2003 and BC10 which started production in 2009.

The Production Engineer will work with members of a multidisciplinary team to complete comprehensive assessments of production performance,identifying and executing improvement opportunities.

Specific job duties will include day-to-day operations support,well integrity management,well intervention design and management,well and system surveillance / analysis and short term production forecasting.

II – Dimension:
The BJSA and BC10 fields have Operations that are extremely challenging as new and complex wells & subsea technology has been applied in frontier Deepwater environments (including Deepwater gas-lifted wells; souring potential; subsea boosting stations,etc).

The role will provide a good balance of Production System Optimization,drilling,completion and well intervention opportunities. Common activities the successful applicant will lead include coil tubing stimulations,integrity worksovers,scale treatments and artificial lift optimization,as well as day to day operations support.

It is expected that both fields will have further drilling activity over the next two years and there are plans for the next phase of the BC10 development. Therefore high quality Well and Reservoir Surveillance is essential to optimize development decisions

•Total Production accountability:
o25,000 boe/d for BJSA
o60,000 boe/d for BC10

III – Main Job Accountabilities:
•The management of all performance and technical integrity aspects of production and injection wells.
•Ensuring that the agreed reservoir management strategy is optimally executed in all operations.
•Coordination of the planning,design,approval and execution of well intervention activities in co-operation with Well Engineering & Completions.
•Delivering the short-term production forecast and the active follow up of performance against plan,in conjunction with the Reservoir Engineer.
•Defining and delivering technically sound production engineering input to the reservoir management and field development plans.
•Design and optimization of the performance of water injection and oil production wells.
•Verification of the Production Programming and Hydrocarbon Accounting data.
•Delivery of the necessary Petroleum Engineering input to support projects and operational plans with strong emphasis on high level of HSE.
•Coaching and developing young staff,including responsibility for quality assurance of the work carried out within the team.
•Optimize the value of the assets with economical evaluation of different investments opportunities versus optimization strategies.
•Support / Lead Production System Optimization (PSO)

Desired Skills & Experience

•At least 5 - 10 years work relevant experience in the Production Engineering domain, with knowledge of Production System Optimization, particularly with day to day operations support.
•The ability to communicate effectively with a range of people from junior offshore operations staff to senior management.
•Extensive experience with water flooded and artificially lifted fields would be an advantage.
•Good understanding of subsurface and production disciplines. Ability to perform with limited guidance in a multidisciplinary team.
•Fluent written and spoken English is essential. Good reporting and presentation skills are useful.
•Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge or experience in the Petex Integrated Production Modeling Suite and Schlumberger´s Oil field Management Suite of tools.
