Job Description

Plans and designs manufacturing processes in industrial plant. Maximizes efficiency by analyzing layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods, and work force utilization. Determines parts and tools needed in order to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specification.

MAIN JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develops business and engineering strategies and plans critical path analysis, earned value management, analysis and implementation of unplanned work scope, etc.
  • Analyze current production processes and apply lean/six sigma principles to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Responsible for performing highly complex activities for the development, implementation and maintenance of manufacturing methods.
  • Determines, specifies, revises, and/or reviews economic methods, operation sequence, tooling for the fabrications of parts, finishing and assembly, components, subassemblies, or final products.
  • Develops assembly guides, procedures, and illustrations.
  • Provides technical guidance to product operations, assists supervisor on new techniques, and may assist in determining the cause of rejected parts and their disposition.
  • Participates in cost studies and equipment recommendations.
  • Provides work leadership and training to professional employees.
  • Investigate and solve problems in manufacturing of products.
  • Responsible for maintaining these programs and enhancing their use and effectiveness throughout the organization.
  • Responsible for evaluating current process flow charts and modifying them.
  • Provides site expertise in 2-3 areas of the manufacturing process.
  • Initiates and develops tasks with minimal to no supervision
  • Serves as a consultant to process owners in setting up control charts and determining appropriate methods of process controls
  • Lead process control and support customer requirements.
  • Responsible for maintaining, measuring and improving process controls and customer support.
  • Ensure ISO compliance.
  • Lead new product release and qualify them for production.
  • Ensure compliance to internal and external specifications.
  • Lead process and product quality improvement teams.
  • Train process owners on ISO regulations and requirements.Statistical Process control proficiency.
  • Leads projects to laugh new products and install new equipment.
  • Drive improvements in tooling and fixtures to improve quality.
  • Ability to work on several projects simultaneously and give direction to support staff.
  • Perform other tasks and duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
  • Proficient in Microsoft and industry related computer programs
  • Strong knowledge of SMT, through-hole and high level assembly processes and machine operations.
  • Statistical process control proficiency.
  • Ability to work independently on several projects in a fast paced environment.
  • Exercises good judgment to balance production and quality needs.
  • Excellent verbal, written, communication and interpersonal skills required.
  • Communicate well with program management and customers.
  • Ability to execute detailed instructions and procedures
EDUCATION

Bachelors degree in Electrical, Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent work experience.
