Description and Desired Qualifications
This role will require the applicant to work in a multidisciplinary design team to successfully deliver the electrical engineering and sustainable systems for building projects.

The Electrical Engineer will be required to demonstrate an interest in building design and an ability to work from first principles to deliver best solutions to meet Client needs.

There will be a variety of interface between clients, contractors and suppliers through the normal project cycle to develop system design and good interpersonal skills are therefore, considered important.

The right individual will be able to demonstrate imaginative ways of presenting their work in terms of drawings, reports and documents. An ability to produce freehand sketches and drawings will be seen as a desirable skill.

Analysis of buildings is generally carried out on IES, Dialux, Relux and Amtech and other equivalent software. The applicant will have a good working understanding of one or more of the listed software.

The post holder must be able to demonstrate a good working knowledge of industry standard documentation including IET wiring regulations, CIBSE Guides, BSRIA documentation, etc.

It would be ideal if the Electrical Engineer will be Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status or at least working toward them.

The successful applicant will
• Report to the Team Leader Building Services (London)
• Work with the team to deliver imaginative and innovative design solutions.
• Be required to manage their own time to ensure project deadlines are achieved.
• Be required to work with senior staff to deliver high quality work to a programme.
• Be highly motivated and focused on a successful win- win outcome for the company and our clients.
• Show a willingness to develop a good working knowledge of current and proposed legislation, guidelines, and good practice documents relating to sustainability and building design.
• Be a good communicator in both written and oral form. Be able to produce reports and documents using freehand sketching and other graphics software.
• Be a good team player who understands the need to share knowledge and skills.

Basic Qualifications and Experience required:

All applicants must be eligible to live and work in the UK.

The ideal candidate should possess and be able to demonstrate the following skills and knowledge. These points should align with the key areas of responsibility:

• To have a proven track record in Electrical Design Engineering
• It is essential to be competent in the use of industry standard software in one or more of either: IES, Dialux, Relux and Amtech.
• Have a relevant degree qualification in either Electrical Engineering, Building Engineering or a related subject. Or the equivalent. Other qualifications will be considered with the right experience.
• Be able to demonstrate a personal commitment to technical and career development
• Be able to organise both their own workload with input from their line manager.
• Be able to demonstrate key experience on major projects with a major consulting engineering practice across a variety of market sectors including commercial, education, public buildings and healthcare.
• To be able to demonstrate electrical engineering design experience from other industries could also be considered but there will be a strong preference to have building services experience
