Macmahon is a leading Australian contract mining company with major projects throughout Australia and in New Zealand, Asia, Mongolia and Africa.
We are currently recruiting for an Engineering and Planning Superintendent to join our team on the expansion of Fortescue Metals Group's Christmas Creek iron ore mine. You will be responsible for ensuring the maintenance teams are providing detailed and accurate asset maintenance plans, efficient and reliable inventory control and supply of spares to continually improve asset reliability.
This is a newly created position in a start-up environment. It will offer the right candidate a highly challenging and rewarding position where your staff management, organisational and analytical skills will be utilised on a daily basis.
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, your responsibilities will include:
  • Mentoring and coaching of the engineering and planning teams to continually deliver high standard quality outputs
  • Establishment of clear objectives and responsibilities for all team members
  • Development and delivery of reliable, accurate and timely maintenance plans to the maintenance execution teams capturing all works required to ensure the assets are capable of being maintained at optimal levels
  • Development and delivery of optimal inventory control processes and actions to ensure spares and consumables are available and supplied to the operations.
  • Provision of timely and accurate administration services to the maintenance department ensuring seamless daily operations and accurate data capture
  • Development and delivery of the reliability and engineering processes and systems to continually improve asset reliability
To be considered for this position you will need:
  • Relevant Australian recognised tertiary engineering qualification
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in maintenance planning & scheduling processes
  • Extensive experience within the maintenance field
  • Heavy mobile equipment experience essential
  • Understanding of reliability systems and processes
  • Knowledge and experience with inventory control and warehousing
  • Large scale open cut mining
