Position
Reporting directly to the Maintenance Supervisor, this role is responsible for the day to day leadership of your shift team members.
Your interpersonal and leadership skills will be challenged as you help shape and build a new team, coaching individuals when necessary and developing people to achieve common business goals. Consistent application of your efforts will contribute to the achievement of business targets.
Some of your key accountabilities will include:
You will have a Mechanical or Electrical trade background, with significant practical experience in preventative and predictive maintenance.
Your track record testifies to your highly developed analytical and problem solving skills, and proven ability to communicate plans clearly and concisely. A background in mining operations with a high standard of supervision and team leadership through continuous rosters cycles will be critical to your success. Demonstrated experience in organisational change, systems, processes and personnel is desired and the ability to coach and guide teams through positive operational improvements. A working knowledge of PC based planning systems and packages, and intimidate knowledge of SAP based Maintenance, coupled with experience in the mining or heavy industry sectors, will be well regarded.
Current full West Australian "C" class motor vehicle license or current equivalent Australian State motor vehicle license is a requirement of this role.
Location
This is a residential role, based in Port Hedland in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. Located on the coast, Port Hedland is the largest regional centre in the North West, close to Broome, Karratha and Karijini National Park. The 15,000-strong population enjoys well-established education service, entertainment, sporting, shopping and medical facilities, and a strong sense of community.

- Front line leadership and maintaining a high profile in the promotion of safe working conditions and practices to ensure a safe working environment;
- Provide effective leadership through training, coaching and supervision;
- Develop and lead Work Management requirements for planned work in the shift environment;
- Understand and work to Work Management KPI's and instigate corrective actions when required;
- Developing and maintaining sustainable systems and procedures for shift maintenance;
- Establish an operating cost culture, continuously ensuring cost effectiveness and best practice; and,
- Developing strategies for the implementation of business initiatives and leading their rollout across shift maintenance.
